CHRISTMAS FAIR 2010

The annual Christmas Fair was held as usual in St. Peter's school on Saturday 29th November 2010 and took on a Victorian theme to celebrate the school's 150th Anniversary.  Father Christmas was visited in his Grotto, afternoon tea was served in the hall while there were opportunities to win prizes on several  tombolas, competitions and raffles. Face painters were kept really busy and other stalls sold toys, books, homemade cakes and chutneys, white elephants goods, craft items and flower arrangements.

St. Peter's Day is traditionally celebrated on the 29th June but our celebrations began well before that.  To mark this important date, our church was open during the afternoon on Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th June. This allowed people to view the beautiful array of floral tributes and arrangements by many of the church's associated groups. Music resounded around the festivities courtesy of Eddie Matthews, our church organist and the hand bell ringers also provided some entertainment. Numerous craft activities kept the children amused for hours and afternoon tea was served in the annexe.

Children from St. Peter's Primary School took part in the Sunday morning Family Eucharist by reading the Gospel and the intercessional prayers. The reception children also entertained the congregation with a lively song.  On Monday 29th June, the whole school came to church for its traditional St. Peter's Day Prize Giving Service, when many of the children's gifts and talents were recognized.

GOOD FRIDAY ACTIVITY MORNING 2009

On Good Friday, over 80 children from the parish came to church to take part in an activity morning. The activities included the construction of a garden, complete with the green hill and tomb.
